We didn't "adopt AI." We just started using it everywhere until it became embarrassing not to. At MadAppGang, AI is in three places now. Internal processes - meaning the boring stuff that slows teams down. Approvals, status updates, documentation nobody reads. We killed most of that or automated it. 14 years of accumulated process debt, gone faster than I expected. Development itself - our engineers use Claude Code, Cursor, and a bunch of custom tooling we've built internally. Not as autocomplete. As junior pair programmers you can fire without HR paperwork. We ship faster. Not 10% faster. Meaningfully faster. And then we deliver AI to customers. That's the part I'm most proud of honestly. We've gone from explaining what an LLM is to shipping production AI features inside the same project. That used to take separate teams and separate budgets. The thing nobody tells you about AI adoption is that it's not a tool decision. It's a culture decision. Engineers who treat it as a threat stay slow. Engineers who treat it as a multiplier get dangerous in the best way. I don't have a clean framework for this. We figured it out by building 10x Labs as our own AI consulting arm and eating our own cooking first.
